CornerDay ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information we collect

Account data

Email address and display name when you sign up
Profile avatar (optional photo you upload)

Recovery profile

Your motivation for quitting, main trigger, and goal (chosen from a list or written by you)
The date and time you stopped gambling
Self-reported weekly gambling spend (optional, can be skipped) and currency
Type of support person in your corner (no name or contact details stored)

Activity data

Streak dates and check-in history
Loss and repayment entries (amounts, categories, dates, optional notes) — visible only to you
Daily mood check-ins (a number 1–5 and date)
Urge journal entries (trigger type, outcome, optional note, date)
Badges earned

Community data (optional)

Posts you publish to the community feed (can be anonymous)
Reactions, comments, and bookmarks

Technical data

Push notification token (to deliver notifications to your device)
Anonymised crash reports — no recovery data included

2. What we do NOT collect

Your precise location
Your contacts list (accessed only if you choose to add a trusted contact; stored in your account, never shared)
Browsing history or data from other apps
Biometric data — biometric authentication happens on your device only and is never sent to our servers

3. How we use your information

To provide the CornerDay service and sync your data across devices
To send transactional emails (welcome, weekly digest, milestone alerts) to your registered email only
To process subscription payments via RevenueCat — we do not store payment card details
To operate the AI Coach feature (Premium only) — chat messages are sent to Anthropic's API and are not stored by CornerDay after your session ends
To fix bugs using anonymised crash reports

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We share data only with the following service providers to operate the app:

All services are US-based. If you are in the EU or UK, data is transferred under standard contractual clauses.

5. Data retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your recovery data is permanently removed immediately. Crash reports in Sentry are retained for 90 days. Subscription records in RevenueCat may be retained as required by law.

6. Your rights

You can, at any time:

Export all your data: Account → Settings → Export my data
Delete your account and all data: Account → Settings → Delete account
Opt out of email notifications: Account → Settings → Notifications
Turn off push notifications in your device settings

For EU/UK residents: you have the right to access, rectify, port, and erase your data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Children

CornerDay is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
